Washington, DC – Today LGBTQ Victory Fund announced Seth Schermer will serve as Vice President of Development and Tim Meinke as Senior Director of Major Gifts, bringing new leadership to the organization’s development team. Seth and Tim will grow revenue for the organization and secure funding for its endorsed candidates to strengthen Victory Fund’s impact in the 2018 election cycle and beyond.
Most recently, Seth served as Vice President of Philanthropy for the U.S. Soccer Foundation, increasing and diversifying its revenue streams and dramatically increasing major donor retention. His more than 15 years of development experience includes raising PAC contributions for U.S. House and Senate candidates, creating robust stewardship programs, and building political coalitions to raise funds and strengthen impact.
Tim recently served as Director of Political OutGiving for Gill Action, where he developed a state-based political program to advance LGBTQ equality and defeat anti-LGBTQ legislation and lawmakers. From 2006 to 2013 he served in various development roles at Victory Fund, including as Development Director. Tim was critical to Victory Fund raising more than one million dollars toward a Super PAC to successfully elect Tammy Baldwin, our first out LGBTQ Senator.
“Victory Fund will benefit enormously from Seth and Tim joining the team, and I am confident we will have a greater impact in 2018 because of their work,” said LGBTQ Victory Fund President & CEO Annise Parker. “This election cycle we will raise more money for our efforts to elect LGBTQ candidates across the country and will provide more direct funds to our candidates. A greater number of LGBTQ candidates will be victorious on Election Day because of these increased efforts.”
