Washington, DC – Today Victory Fund, the only national organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ leaders to public office, endorsed Angie Craig in her race for U.S. Congress. If elected, Craig would become the first openly LGBTQ person elected to Congress from the state of Minnesota, and would defeat one of the most anti-LGBTQ members of Congress.
Victory Fund President & CEO Aisha C. Moodie-Mills released the following statement about the endorsement:
“Victory Fund is thrilled to endorse Angie Craig in her race for the Congressional seat in Minnesota – both because of her smart, effective leadership and her unwavering commitment to equality. Her command of public policy and pragmatic instincts presents a stark choice for Minnesota voters, who will choose between Angie and an anti-LGBTQ demagogue who has accomplished nothing for Minnesotans while in office. This will be one of the most exciting races of 2018 – and we are confident Angie will secure a big win on election day.”
Since 1991, Victory Fund has helped thousands of openly LGBTQ candidates win local, state and federal elections.
