Washington, DC – Today Victory Fund, the only national organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ leaders to public office, endorsed Albuquerque City Councilor Pat Davis in his race for U.S. Congress. If elected, Davis would become the first openly LGBTQ person elected to Congress from the state of New Mexico.
Victory Fund President & CEO Aisha C. Moodie-Mills released the following statement about the endorsement:
“Victory Fund is thrilled to endorse Pat Davis for U.S. Congress. Victory Fund supporters helped Pat win his election to the Albuquerque City Council, where he has stood out as a voice not just for the LGBTQ community, but as a champion for community-led police reform and as a fighter for working families. As a former police officer and community organizer, voters know Pat is someone looking out for them. That, and his real-world legislating experience, is needed in Washington now more than ever. When he wins in November, Pat will become a vital LGBTQ voice in the U.S. Congress.”
Since 1991, Victory Fund has helped thousands of openly LGBTQ candidates win local, state and federal elections.
