Goines will oversee major gifts and corporate development programs;
Previously served at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights
Washington, DC – LGBTQ Victory Fund and LGBTQ Victory Institute announced Ron Goines will serve as the new Managing Director of Development beginning February 1. In the role, he will oversee the organizations’ major gifts and corporate development programs at a critical moment, with more LGBTQ people running for and serving in elected office than ever before. Goines has supported Victory Fund’s work throughout the past decade, including serving on steering committees for one of its largest fundraisers.
Goines is a seasoned fundraising professional with experience building and overseeing all aspects of fundraising including principal, planned, major, corporate and foundation gifts. Before coming to Victory Fund, he served as Director of Major Gifts and Corporate Relations for The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights (LCCHR), building the corporate relations program, helping grow major gifts and establishing a pipeline of donors of color. Prior to LCCHR, he served as Vice President of Development for Planned Parenthood Southeast. He is a graduate of Oberlin College.
“For nearly a decade, I have supported the work of Victory Fund and Victory Institute because of its impact on American politics and the movement for LGBTQ equality,” said Goines. “I am thrilled to build upon my history with the organizations at a time when the importance of leadership is so evident. LGBTQ leaders are needed now more than ever, and I am ready to ensure these elected officials and candidates have the programs and resources they need to succeed.”
Goines joins the organizations as they plan a major expansion of training programs and candidate service offerings to dramatically increase LGBTQ representation in government. Growing the major gifts and corporate development programs are key to this effort.
