Jared Polis, an entrepreneur and philanthropist, has announced his candidacy to represent the 2nd Congressional District in Colorado. The 32 year-old Boulder resident said his sexual orientation may make him a stronger candidate. “To have dealt with the closet and coming out in one’s life is a character-builder,” Polis said. Two other Democrats have also announced for the seat, while no Republicans have filed yet.
