Ben Dotson is a seasoned executive, advisor to campaigns and causes, and leadership coach with over 16 years of success scaling high-performing teams and driving strategy at the intersection of politics, fundraising, and digital engagement. He currently serves as Vice President of Development at the LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, where he oversees the organization’s integrated fundraising strategy.

Previously, Ben was Vice President of Digital at EMILY’s List, where he led digital fundraising, communications, and organizing efforts. Under his leadership, the organization delivered the two most successful digital fundraising cycles in its history, launched the Run to Win campaign that recruited more than 65,000 women interested in running for office, and built a grassroots community of more than six million supporters.

Ben’s earlier work spans government, advocacy, and consulting. At the Smoot Tewes Group, he helped build the digital practice and led integrated digital campaigns across the energy, environment, and electoral sectors. As a presidential appointee in the Obama administration, he spearheaded efforts to reimagine how the Department of Energy communicates – making it more accessible and responsive to the public. He began his career in LGBTQ+ and youth organizing and worked on multiple state and local campaigns in Michigan.

Ben holds a BA in Political Science and Music from Central Michigan University and a Master’s in Political Management from The George Washington University. A Tennessee native, he lives in Washington, DC, with his cat daughter, Pancake Jolene.
