Corey Johnson

Corey Johnson is the former Speaker of the New York City Council — the first HIV-positive person and just the second out gay person to lead New York City’s legislature. As a Council Member, he championed LGBTQ+ rights, criminal justice reform, affordable housing, and protections for victims of domestic violence. Johnson previously served as Director of Programs at GLAAD and continues to be a nationally recognized advocate for equality and social justice.
