Howard Pulchin-Ramos

Global Creative Director, APCO Worldwide

Howard is Global Creative Director at APCO Worldwide and works with colleagues and clients to develop insight-driven campaign ideas to help meet their business challenges and make a positive impact with audiences.  Now, approaching his ninth anniversary with the company, he has worked with a range of companies, associations and NGOs spanning consumer brands, corporate, health care, technology and industry sectors.

While at APCO, he established its first LGBTQ ERG and helped start and served on its DEI Council.  Howard was also one of the company’s co-creators of “Accelerate What’s Right,” APCO’s ongoing commitment to addressing systemic racial inequities. He has led/co-led many agency programs including the Global Idea Pitch Competition, APCO Win and the Integrated Campaign Bootcamps.  During his time at APCO, he also served on the PR Jury for the Cannes Lions Awards and helped the PR Council establish its industry ERG.

Prior to APCO, Howard worked at Edelman in various capacities ranging from MD, Consumer Brands Division to co-lead of the Edelman Strategic and Creative Guild.  His work included leading the teams which introduced brands like Xbox and Axe; leading the development of Trojan’s Sexual Health Advisory Council and being the public relations representative to the team which developed Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty.

In between roles at Edelman, Howard served as Director of U.S. Events and Communications for the Guinness/Bass Import Company/Diageo, and proudly helped orchestrate the Guinness Win Your Own Pub in Ireland contest, which awarded six pubs in Ireland to six U.S. residents.

He’s served as a member of Victory Fund’s VCB for 2+ years and has worked with its internal team on Victory’s recent rebrand.  He continues to serve on the Board for Hope in a Box, and organization dedicated to LGBTQ inclusive education in rural schools.  He was the first Board Chair of the organization.  He is a member of Advisory Councils for Witness Change (with an emphasis on its LGBTQ program, Where Love is Illegal) and the Little Guild (an animal rescue organization in Cornwall CT).  Previous board engagements include The Hudson Square (NYC) Connection (BID) and The Sylvia Center, a NY-based organization that teaches young people from under-resourced communities how to prepare healthy meals.

Howard, his husband Joey, and dachshund Ranger live in New York City and Warren, CT.

His proudest and most memorable life moment was his wedding in 2011, the first time all guests (including the now-husbands) experienced two men being wed.
