Sean Meloy is the Vice President of Political Programs at LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, where he’s led the effort to double the number of LGBTQ+ people elected in the United States to over 1,000 over the last 5 years. Sean was born and raised in Pittsburgh, where he lives with his partner Ethan and recently ran for the U.S. Congress to effectuate Victory Fund’s mission.

Sean has long been a state, local, and national organizer, having worked for Pennsylvania Congressman Mike Doyle and on multiple campaigns. A nationally-recognized advocate for LGBTQ+ equality, Meloy was appointed by Governor Tom Wolf to serve on the Pennsylvania Commission on LGBTQ Affairs, served as Director of LGBTQ Engagement at the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and is the current Chair of the PA Democratic Party’s LGBTQ Caucus. He also has a professional background as a policy advocate for broadband expansion, consumer protection, and holding corporations and special interests accountable.

Sean serves as a Democratic National Committee member from Pennsylvania, the first LGBTQ+ person to do so from the Commonwealth.
