UPDATE (11:12 PM): James Healey has won the Democratic nomination for Nevada’s 35th Assembly district.
UPDATE (10:08 PM): With polls closed in North Dakota and Nevada, two more candidates have won their respective primaries:
- Kyle Thorson has won the Democratic nomination for North Dakota’s 43rd House district.
- Andrew Martin has won the Democratic nomination for Nevada state controller.
UPDATE (9:40 PM): Ryan Fecteau has won the Democratic nomination for Maine’s 11th House district. If elected in November, the 22-year old Fecteau would become the youngest serving openly LGBT state lawmaker in American history.
UPDATE (8:33 PM): Adam Ebbin has fallen short in his campaign for Virginia’s 8th Congressional district, and is likely to finish in third place out of a field of 10 candidates.
UPDATE (8:07 PM): With polls now closed in Maine, four candidates have won their respective primaries:
- Mike Michaud has won the Democratic nomination for governor.
- Justin Chenette has won the Democratic nomination for the state’s 15th House district.
- Andrew McLean has won the Democratic nomination for the state’s 27th House district.
- Henry Beck has won the Democratic nomination for the state’s 110th House district.
Today, nine Victory Fund endorsed candidates are facing primary elections in four states across the country, including Virginia, Maine, North Dakota, and Nevada.

Virginia (polls close at 7pm Eastern)
- Adam Ebbin faces off in the Democratic primary for the state’s 8th Congressional District. If elected, Ebbin would be the first openly LGBT member of Congress from a southern state.
Maine (polls close at 8pm Eastern)
- Mike Michaud is competing in the Democratic primary for governor of Maine. Michaud would be the first openly LGBT candidate ever elected governor if he wins the general election this November.
- Ryan Fecteau is running in the Democratic primary for the state’s 11th House district.
- Justin Chenette is running for reelection in the Democratic primary for the state’s 15th House district.
- Henry Beck is running for reelection in the Democratic primary for the state’s 76th House district.
- Andrew McLean is running for reelection in the Democratic primary for the state’s 129th House district.
North Dakota (polls close at 10pm Eastern)
- Kyle Thorson is competing in the Democratic primary for the state’s 43rd House district.
Nevada (all polls close by 10pm Eastern)
- Andrew Martin is running unopposed in the Democratic primary for state controller. If elected in November, Martin would be the first openly LGBT candidate elected to statewide office in Nevada.
- James Healey is running for reelection in the Democratic primary for the state’s 35th Assembly district.
