Hillary Clinton appears to be expanding her campaign operation into the battleground states of Arizona and Georgia, which is great news for openly gay Victory-endorsed candidate Matt Heinz, who is running for Arizona’s second Congressional district. The hiring of Clinton field organizers may lead to a robust coordinated effort that increases the exposure of Heinz, who was recently praised in an Arizona Republic endorsement for his “wide scope” of expertise and focus on topics that matter in his district. Heinz is running against incumbent Martha McSally, who Heinz has criticized for refusing to denounce Donald Trump.
From the Washington Post: “Polls in both states — which Republican nominee Mitt Romney carried in 2012 — show a tightening race between Clinton and Donald Trump. The move by the Clinton campaign suggests a bid to expand the number of battleground states in play in November. It was not immediately clear how great of an investment the Clinton campaign plans to make.”
