Recently released FEC filings show Victory Fund candidate Denise Juneau outraising her opponent and with more cash on hand heading into the final week of the campaign. Denise is running against anti-LGBTQ U.S. Rep. Ryan Zinke for Montana’s lone House seat.
From Denise’s campaign:
According to the latest FEC filings yesterday, Juneau raised $319,143 to Congressman Zinke’s $258,657. She also has more than $490,000 on hand, while Congressman Zinke has $399,000.
The report also shows 95 percent of Zinke’s individual donations came from out-of-state donors, while Juneau raised 69 percent of her donations from Montanans.
“Denise Juneau continues to receive more support from Montanans instead of out-of-state special interests,” said Denise’s campaign manager Lauren Caldwell. “She’s now raised way more than any Democrat ever to run for this seat, and she’s well-suited to share her message and get out the vote the last week of the campaign.”
If elected next Tuesday, Juneau would be the first openly LGBTQ member of Congress from Montana, the first Montanan woman in 73 years, and the first Native American woman elected in history.
