Washington, DC – Today LGBTQ Victory Fund – the only national organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ leaders to public office – endorsed 10 more LGBTQ candidates for the 2021 election cycle, including Janani Ramachandran for California state Assembly. Ramachandran will be the first out LGBTQ women of Asian descent ever elected to the state Assembly if she wins.
“While many consider 2021 an off-election year, it is state and local governments that most affect the daily lives of residents,” said Mayor Annise Parker, President & CEO of LGBTQ Victory Fund. “The LGBTQ candidates we endorse today will champion equality at the state and local level – blocking bills attacking anti-trans students, passing laws that ban conversion therapy and changing hearts and minds in their communities along the way. We have groundbreaking candidates running across the country this year and together we can help them cross the finish line.”
