Biography
John Bauters is a former disaster relief director and homeless services provider currently working as a victims advocate, and is running to represent District 5 on the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. He has spent more than 20 years in direct services and advocacy where he helped move people off the streets into affordable housing, and fought to fund community-based violence prevention and trauma recovery services programs. He has been a member of the Emeryville City Council for close to 8 years, where he has championed affordable housing and community safety initiatives. John is an empathetic leader who wants to ensure that Alameda County is a safe place for everyone, with a health and social safety net that is comprehensive, inclusive, and accessible to every person who needs care.
