David Silva

Current Vice-Mayor David Silva is seeking to become Mayor of his city of Buellton. David’s husband Jason and him moved to Buellton in 2019. After working through Jason’s cancer journey in 2020, David sought to support his community as a way to give back after the community had done so much for Jason’s recovery. During his first 2 years on council, he has been able to engage and celebrate the diversity found in his rural community through increasing funding for local community arts projects, helping support new events recognizing Hispanic Heritage, Juneteenth, and Pride Month when it had never been recognized prior, and investing into critical social services like the Meals on Wheels program so that Seniors can make sure they receive the care they need to live with dignity in his community. As Mayor, David hopes to continue to help Buellton become more inclusive, supportive, and compassionate to all its members and ensure that the community is there for anyone struggling just like David and Jason did during their time of need.
