Eric will be the first openly LGBTQ member of the Delaware State House
Eric Morrison is a Democratic candidate for the Delaware State House of Representatives and a lifelong Delawarean. He was raised in southern Delaware and moved to northern Delaware in 1992 to attend the University of Delaware Honors Program, from which he graduated in 1996 with an English major, a History minor, a concentration in Ethnic & Cultural Studies, and an Advanced Honors Certificate. Then, Eric worked in education for six years, and Medicaid health insurance for thirteen years. Currently, he works in human resources. Eric has been active in his community since the age of thirteen, especially Delaware’s LGBT community. In college, he was a board member of one LGBT organization, and founded and served as the President of another one. Later, he served on the board of Delaware Pride for many years, including over three years as President. He has helped to raise many tens of thousands of dollars for AIDS Delaware and the Rainbow Chorale of Delaware and volunteers regularly for organizations like the Food Bank of Delaware. In recent years, Eric has worked hard to elect Delaware Democrats up and down the ballot and the state, including leadership and volunteer roles on campaigns. He has also worked on numerous legislative issue campaigns and organized many educational events for the community including film screenings, panel discussions, forums, and debates. If elected, Eric will be Delaware’s first openly gay man to serve in the Delaware State Legislature.
