Erin will continue to be an important voice for equality in Arkansas!
Biography
Erin Holliday has been serving the city of Hot Springs for over a decade. She currently holds the position of City Director representing District 1 and serves on the Advertising and Promotions Commission. Previously, she held positions on the planning commission and the community development advisory committee.
Erin is a Hot Springs native which fostered a love of the arts and community. Her journey into politics began in the arts, supporting and advocating for artists. She migrated into neighborhood preservation and community development, and then into public service. Along this path, she has seen firsthand how much representation matters. As the first openly LGBTQ+ elected official in Garland County, Erin works to authentically and effectively stand in spaces where others may not be able to, making room for their voice.
Professionally Erin has worked in the arts nonprofit sector for 20+ years. For the last eleven years, she has served as Executive Director of Emergent Arts, and served as Executive Director of Arkansans for the Arts, 2019-2022. In that time, she has directly supported the creative growth and cultural expression of thousands of artists and students.
The position of City Director in Hot Springs is a nonpartisan office and Erin works to represent everyone in her district regardless of political affiliation. Erin believes that the role of government is to remove obstacles in the way of one seeking the quality of life they choose. Because of this belief, she works outside of her municipal position to support the Democratic party, serving as the Chair of the Democratic Party of Garland County, Secretary of the Stonewall Caucus, member of the Democratic Party of Arkansas County Review Committee and Advisory Cabinet Member for EMERGE Arkansas.
Erin lives among the trees near downtown Hot Springs where she regularly hikes and patrons local businesses. She co-parents an exceptional teenager who often accompanies her at art events, community functions, and political rallies.
