Biography
John F. Moran is the first openly LGBTQ+ State Representative for the MA 9th Suffolk District, where he has served since June, 2023. In his first year in office he has fought for the advancement of LGBTQ+ rights through the promotion of the MA Parentage Act, and co-filing with Senator Julian Cyr of anti-book banning legislation, for which he was recognized by MassEquality. Moran sees a strong relationship between LGBTQ+ rights and reproductive equity and freedom, for which he is a strong advocate. His other priorities include early childhood education, combating homelessness, and bringing innovative solutions to issues surrounding substance use disorder.
