Biography
Kameron Nelson is the first out gay man elected to the South Dakota House of Representatives! He lives and works in Sioux Falls, SD as the Director of Major Gifts for the LifeScape Foundation, a non-profit committed to serving children and adults with disabilities.
He is deeply passionate about his community and seeks to build a more inclusive culture within the state and its tribal nations.
After graduating from high school in Rapid City, SD he received his bachelor’s from South Dakota State University. He volunteers with Lost&Found to help bring mental health resources and suicide prevention training to young people across the state and with Junior Achievement to prepare students for career readiness.
Kameron is devoted to advancing exceptional pre-k through postsecondary education in South Dakota and will work to secure more accessible healthcare for his state.
