Lucia Wroblewski

Minnesota House of Representatives, District 41A

Lucia will be an important voice for equality in the Minnesota House of Representatives!

Biography

Lucia is a second generation American whose Polish-born parents came to the United States as displaced persons after World War 2. The Nazis forcibly removed her mother’s family from their home and transported them to Germany’s Dachau concentration camp. Stalin’s Russian military forcibly removed her father’s family and transported them to a Russian Gulag. Their long journey and history of survival and resilience culminated in her parents marrying and raising Lucia and her two siblings on St Paul’s East Side. Lucia graduated from Johnson High School, attended Macalester College, and.spent most of her career patrolling the streets of her beloved East Side as a police officer.

While still a young cop, she purchased 25 acres of Afton farmland. Over the decades, Lucia transformed the row-cropped land into a conservation parcel of established prairie and mature woodlands that provide a refuge for people and a variety of wildlife. Lucia has dedicated herself to serve and protect people, their quality of life, and the natural resources of communities. From her 28 years as a cop on the street protecting and serving the citizens of St Paul, to her decade of preserving Afton’s quality of life on the Planning Commission and City Council, she unfailingly works hard to provide responsive, respectful, thoughtful, and compassionate constituent service. She fiercely defends our democracy and democratic values, safeguarding the fundamental rights of all Minnesotans. As the next state representative from 41A, Lucia will continue her forthright advocacy for people, their communities, the natural environment, and our democracy.
