Heather will continue to be a voice for equality in Kansas!


Rep. Heather Meyer (she/her) is a recently appointed first-term legislator from Overland Park, KS, and Kansas’s first openly bisexual legislator. When she is not serving in the legislature, Rep. Meyer is a medical social worker, who most recently worked for Kansas City’s oldest AIDS Service Organization, serving folks living with HIV, and fighting for healthcare equity and accessibility. Rep. Meyer is also a mother to two children, the youngest of which is trans/enby.

Rep. Meyer has been a community activist for nearly two decades and is passionate about many issues including LGBTQ+ rights, Social Justice & Equity, Reproductive Rights, Medicaid expansion/Healthcare for All, Public Education, Cannabis Decriminalization, and addressing the climate crisis, just to name a few. As a Type 1 Diabetic, Rep. Meyer has also been working closely with US Rep. Sharice Davids (KS-03) on issues related to insulin affordability, and equitable healthcare access on the federal level as well.
