Oshkosh Common Council, At-Large

Winner!

DJ will be the only out LGBTQ+ member of the Oshkosh Common Council!

Biography

DJ is a lawyer for a Wisconsin-founded family entertainment company who moved to Oshkosh several years ago with his husband (Lee) and quickly became involved in the community. DJ serves on the Oshkosh Plan Commission, participates as a Board Member for the Winnebago Area Literacy Council, and volunteers his time with Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services. DJ believes that Oshkosh is large enough to accomplish big things and small enough to focus on individuals and neighborhoods. He will serve on the Oshkosh Common Council with a focus on government transparency, responsible spending, and equity in opportunity. Growing up, DJ attended public school and was the first in his family to go to college and then law school thanks to hard work, support of his community, and a lot of luck. He believes the role of government is to ensure that anyone can achieve what they are willing to work for, regardless of background, race, gender, or who they love, with a hand-up rather than a hand-out, so that luck isn’t the deciding factor for achieving success.
