Biography

Analise Ortiz, a dedicated public servant, currently serves as the State Representative for Legislative
District 24 in Arizona. Born and raised in the vibrant community of Maryvale, Analise’s commitment to her
constituents is deeply rooted in her Arizonan heritage.
Growing up in a family of six children, Analise learned the importance of community and public service
from her parents, both educators. This early influence shaped her values and inspired her to embark on a
journey of advocacy and leadership.
Analise is a proud alumna of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, where
she graduated summa cum laude. Her career initially led her to become an investigative reporter, exposing
government corruption and advocating for positive change. It was through this work that Analise realized
her calling extended beyond journalism to enacting policy changes that benefit the community.
With a passion for justice and reform, Analise transitioned to work at the ACLU and the ACLU of Arizona,
focusing on criminal justice and federal immigration reform. In 2022, she took the courageous step to run
for the Arizona House of Representatives, driven by a desire to remind elected leaders that they serve the
people.
Currently serving as the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee and holding a position on the
House Commerce Committee, Analise has been a force for positive change. She played a pivotal role in
securing a $150 million investment into the Housing Trust Fund and $60 million into a new Homeless
Shelters and Services Fund during her first term.
Analise Ortiz is a trailblazer in her own right, making history as the first openly pansexual representative
for her district. Her advocacy extends beyond legislative accomplishments, embodying inclusivity and
representation in the political landscape.
As Analise embarks on a new journey, running for the Arizona State Senate, she brings with her a wealth of
experience, a passion for justice, and a steadfast commitment to serving the people of Maryvale and
Glendale. Her dedication to affordable housing, education, economic policies, and reproductive rights
continues to drive her mission to create a better future for her community and the entire state.
