Biography
Concord has been Pablo’s home for over 20 years, but that’s not where his journey starts. Born in El Paso, Texas, Pablo’s early childhood was spent traveling between Mexico and Texas. Like many families, his family moved to make ends meet. Raised by his remarkable mother and stepfather, Pablo learned early on the importance of hard work and determination. While his early childhood was spent constantly moving, Pablo’s family settled in Concord when he was 13. Ever since, Concord has been Pablo’s home. Concord was the town he played junior league, went to church in, and finally felt a sense of community. Pablo attended Pine Hollow Middle School and Clayton Valley High School. While at school he embraced a wide array of activities, from Water Polo to Musical Theater. His academic journey led him to CSU East Bay, where he graduated with a major in Political Science with an emphasis in Pre-Law and a minor in Music. Pablo has been deeply involved in community affairs, volunteering with organizations such as the Economic Opportunity Council of Contra Costa and serving as Chair of the Board of Monument Impact, a community-based non-profit that is focused on immigrant, refugee, and low-income communities in Concord. His commitment to social justice and equity is evident in his professional endeavors, where he has worked tirelessly to represent the interests of workers and marginalized communities. Professionally, Pablo brings a wealth of experience, having navigated various roles in both the public and private sectors. His leadership working for SEIU and IFPTE Local 21 reflects his dedication to advancing the rights of workers and promoting fairness in the workplace. Now he works as a government relations professional in the tech industry. In his spare time, Pablo loves being outdoors with his family he also advocates for issues such as transportation infrastructure and technology advancement. That is why he is a proud appointed member of the Concord Parks and Open Space Commission. Pablo’s work as Chair of the Measure V Committee has helped the city bring about $30 million annually to Concord to improve our local roads. Throughout his career, Pablo’s greatest successes have been marked by his ability to inspire others to join him in creating a better Concord, not bully them. Now is not the time for politics as usual in Concord. We need leaders who can bring us together for meaningful progress. Whether through initiatives like Measure V or his work with Monument Impact, Pablo’s passion for bringing people together shines through, driving him to make a meaningful impact for the City of Concord because Concord is his home. As Pablo continues to give to the city that gave so much to him as a child, he remains guided by a simple yet powerful ethos: to leave a lasting legacy of compassion and progress.
