Joshua Polacheck

Arizona Corporation Commission

Joshua will be an important voice for equality!

Biography

Joshua grew up across the rural West, his parents serving in the Indian Health Service. At 23, he was commissioned into the United States Foreign Service. After nearly two decades serving America overseas – including in Mosul and Islamabad – he returned home to Arizona in 2018 to raise his family. As the Executive Director of the Pima Democratic Party, he led the Pima Democrats to our most successful ever election. For this year, he decided to use his very particular set of skills he developed in years of diplomatic service to campaign for the Arizona Corporation Commission. The current GOP majority on the Arizona Corporation Commission is in the pocket of out-of-state fossil fuel interests. Instead of a forward-thinking transition to clean energy, they are tying Arizona’s economic future to the chaos in Eastern Europe and the Persian Gulf. Joshua will bring pro-consumer energy independence policies so we can get the affordable, reliable, and secure grid we all deserve. As a former national security official, Joshua saw firsthand how fragile the fossil fuel supply chain is and how our dependency on it is a threat to America’s national security. Free from dirty fossil fuels, Arizona can have a future free from sudden rate hikes. Joshua is the son and spouse of immigrants and a former union member. He and his spouse live with their child in Tucson where he leads Girls Scouts troops #446 and climbs rocks.
