Biography
As a fourth-generation Texan raised by working-class parents who are both public education graduates, Darius embodies the values of hard work and educational equity. Darius is a dedicated educator, proud foster dad, union member, and community organizer with an unwavering commitment to protecting public education in Sheldon ISD. He holds a Master of Arts in Sociology. His campaign is driven by a deepseated dedication to service and community betterment. Understanding the profound impact that mentors have on children’s lives, Darius brings a wealth of experience to his campaign. Before running for school board, he served as a court-appointed child advocate, contributed to the UHCL Civic Engagement Coalition, and led some volunteer efforts for the Elizabeth Warren presidential campaign. In his role as an educator, Darius has focused on empowering teachers and uplifting students and parents to foster a better learning environment. Darius is committed to fighting racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and other discriminatory practices that harm our children. His goal is to ensure every child in Sheldon ISD receives a fair, inclusive, and supportive education.
