Biography

Amanda Rodriguez is a lifelong resident of San Marcos, Texas. From attending local public schools and graduating from Texas State University to growing up surrounded by family and friends, San Marcos has profoundly shaped her values and ambitions. Having experienced the challenges of the working class firsthand, she understands both the difficulties we face and the strength born from our collective resilience. Her professional journey has been deeply personal. With nearly five years as a Legislative Director in the Texas House of Representatives and almost four years as Board President of Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos, she has gained a comprehensive understanding of the systemic barriers impacting our community and the policy solutions needed to overcome them. This experience fuels her commitment to effecting meaningful, intentional change from the ground up. She is dedicated to tirelessly working toward a community where everyone can truly thrive, where every voice is heard, and where every need is addressed.
