Biography
State Representative Zack Stephenson is a prosecutor, father of two, and lifelong resident of the northern suburbs of Minneapolis. Zack flipped his seat from red to blue in 2018, helping Democrats retake control of the Minnesota House of Representatives. Redistricting in 2022 paired Zack with a Republican incumbent, but Zack won re-election in one of the most closely contested races that year. In the Legislature, Zack serves as Chair of the Commerce Committee, where he prioritizes consumer protections, cracking down on price gouging by Big Pharma, and holding big technology companies accountable. In 2023, Zack was chief author of the successful bill to legalize adult-use cannabis in Minnesota.
