Eric will be important voice for equality on the Portland City Council!
Biography
Eric Zimmerman is a lifelong Oregonian running to represent District 4 on the Portland City Council. Eric has served as the Chief of Staff to two Multnomah County Commissioners and a Senior Advisor to the Portland Mayor. He has experience as a Deputy City Manager for two mid-sized cities in Oregon. Eric has worked on some of the most pressing and critical issues recently facing Portland. Eric is a veteran of the Iraq war and also served in NATO while deployed to Kosovo and in a diplomatic assignment at the U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh. Eric served under the restrictive policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and continues to serve openly today in the Oregon National Guard. Eric is the uncle to three nephews and one niece and he is committed to cleaning up Portland and returning city parks and libraries to Portland families as safe public spaces in a city with deeper commitments to creating more affordable housing for everyone in Portland. Eric has been part of the Victory Fund community since 2015.
