Yesterday, Kamala Harris announced she picked Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to serve as her vice president. And Victory Fund’s endorsed candidates – past and present – responded with excitement! Take a look at how LGBTQ+ leaders and elected officials from all over the country are responding:
Thanks to this amazing community, Minnesota has seen historic levels of LGBTQ+ representation. We were so proud to ensure that Leigh Finke made history the first out trans person elected to the state legislature, that Erin Maye Quade & Clare Oumou Verbeten became the first Black women and the first out LGBTQ women elected to the Minnesota state Senate, and that Angie Craig won several key elections for her swing seat in the U.S. House. They fought hard to pass pro-LGBTQ+ legislation – and Governor Walz signed their bills into law!
These victories are a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when our community has strong representation in government. Our champions in Minnesota have shown that when we have a seat at the table, we can make a real difference.
