Today LGBTQ Victory Fund – the only national organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ leaders to public office – endorsed 40 more LGBTQ candidates for the 2021 election cycle. It is its final endorsement slate with 2021 candidates. With the latest slate, Victory Fund has endorsed 173 candidates for the 2021 cycle and 36 for the 2022 cycle.
“While much attention is paid to officials in Washington, DC, it is state and local officials – city councilmembers, mayors and state legislators – that most affect the daily lives of residents,” Mayor Annise Parker, President & CEO of LGBTQ Victory Fund, said in a statement about the endorsements. “The LGBTQ candidates we endorse today will bring LGBTQ voices to governments where we have none and their visibility and openness will change hearts and minds in their communities. We have groundbreaking candidates running across the country this year and historic opportunities to shatter lavender ceilings in November.”
